Dilts Piston Hydraulics specializes in cylinder manufacturing and rebuilding. From marine Gate Cylinders to Industrial and Agricultural cylinders, we service them all! Our Tuxdo torque machine, which can produce 50,000 lbs of force can remove even the toughest clevis’ and pistons, we have a custom made honing machine that can hone cylinders up to 50” in diameter and 20 feet long. From ½” bore cylinders to very large marine Luffing Cylinders we can handle them all.

Luffing Cylinder

Dilts Piston Hydraulics Inc. supplies and rebuilds all models of Luffing Cylinders including the associated pilot operated check valves and lock valves. We have rebuilt luffing cylinders from self-unloading vessels to conveyor cylinders of Ontario Power Generation.

Our team rebuilt the Lambton Power Generation luffing cylinder in 3.5 days, including re-chroming the cylinder rod. Having a 20 ton crane, excellent employees that work well together and supportive vendors like Ontario Chrome on our side really makes the difference.

Slew Actuator Repair

Slew Actuator Repairs On The Run! Dilts Piston Hydraulics Inc. is known to be the best in the business of rebuilding Self-Unloader Slew Actuator Cylinders. We are setup to do these repairs on the run or while the vessels are tied up. Our first “On the Run” repair lasted 18 years. The first, Atlantic Superior traveled from Washington State to Venezuela, our technician sailed with the vessel to complete the repairs! 18 years later we were back on board to rebuild the cylinders again, this time in Halifax Ontario.

We have also repaired Slew Actuator on the CSL vessel Nelvana, sailing from Florida to Columbia and back. The furthest our technicians have been for this service was 2009 for the CSL Atlas in China. Dilts has been the choice repair contractor for slew repairs for Seaway Marine Transport, Lower Lakes, CSL and V-ships Domestic and International.

From complete Lubriquip lube system installations and repair, hydraulic tubing assemblies to air line installations and leak repair, our crew of technicians are available for in shop repairs or service calls 24 hours per day.

Amador

We are proud of our work for the Toronto Fire Services Boat on their Amador Hydraulics snorkel crane. Dilts Piston Hydraulics was contracted to remove, rebuild and commission the snorkel for the Toronto Fire Boat during Winter Work 2004. The complete crane was brought back to our shop, dismantled and rebuilt from the base to the nozzles.

Dilts Piston Hydraulics is one of the leading repair agents for Hydraulic-Water-Electric swivels and we put our vast knowledge to work on this project. The main boom sections were repaired and renewed as well was the water pipe swivels at each articulating point on the booms. All new piping and hydraulic tubing was added and we did a complete renewal of the basket, including lights, nozzles and personnel area. The project was topped of with the inclusion of a complete electronic operation option. Fire fighting and rescue capabilities are now taken care of directly from the wheelhouse.

Collomatic Winch

After many years of rebuilding the original Collomatic Winch components back to original manufacture’s specifications we approached the owners of Collomatic Winch for support in our bid to be the Collomatic OEM component and rebuild provider. The owners, which have not built Collomatic Winches for about 20 years were more than happy to see us carry on their brand.

In the fall of 2010 they gave us the go ahead to continue the Collomatic name, offer our parts as OEM replacements and gave us the original patents and control of the Collomatic name. Dilts Piston Hydraulics has all Collomatic Winch replacement parts in stock as new, rebuilt or exchange program parts, including the heart of the winch- the Dowty ( Dowmatic ) pump and motor. We carry the most Collomatic replacement parts available. A Collomatic component stock catalogue is available by request.
